Induforum is the annual employment fair of the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineers (ETSII) at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), organized by its students. In this event, companies have the opportunity not only to make themselves known to students but also to interact more closely with them, facilitating the selection of the most suitable profiles.
It took place on the 20th and 21st of April 2022, at the ETSII/ UPM, and it was open to welcome to all UPM students.
ETSII School has the seal of quality of the AUDIT program (ANECA) and the Degree in Engineering in Industrial Technologies, and on the other hand, has also the prestigious ABET accreditation (Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology). In addition, these accreditations are backed by more than 140 international exchange agreements with universities around the world. One of the international exchange programs is the INTERNATIONAL MASTER IN INDUSTRIAL MANAGEMENT (IMIM).
During the Fair, workshops and talks were given by the participants, the university and the companies, which could be attended in person or online.
The informative session on the INTERNATIONAL MASTER IN INDUSTRIAL MANAGEMENT (IMIM), took place on April 20th at the ETSII/UPM in person and was attended by UPM students, mainly ETSII students. So a more direct and close contact was established between our IMIM team and the students.
Questions from the attendees were answered concerning obtaining the double IMIM degree: a “Master of Science in Industrial Management” from the Edinburgh Business School (Heriot-Watt University) and the “International Master in Industrial Management “by the Industrial Business School (Polytechnic University of Madrid).
Likewise, it was clarified that the third semester serves as a specialization for students according to the Consortium university they choose to do their mobility:
“Finance and Engineering”, Politecnico di Torino, Italy (Turin Campus)
“Innovation”, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico (Campus Monterrey, Guadalajara or State of Mexico)
“Supply Chain Management”, Heriot-Watt University, United Arab Emirates (Dubai Campus)
“China Business and Operations”, Northwestern Polytechnical University, China (Xi’an Campus)
It was also indicated that in the last semester the student can carry out their thesis anywhere in the world, either through an academic project or based on an internship carried out by the student in a company. In any case, they will always have an academic tutor who supports them throughout the process of completing the master’s thesis.
Regarding the doubts about the application process and dates, it was advised that students from the European Union or associated countries send their application before July 30, 2022, and for the rest before June 15, 2022, to have enough time for visa procedures, since classes will begin the first week of September 2022. It was commented that the student may be provisionally admitted in case he is in the process of obtaining his degree diploma, or has to update some document such as the English language proficiency certificate.
Finally, the students were informed about the full-tuition scholarships and internships granted by ACCIONA, our corporate partner, as well as the tuition discount of 4,000 euros that students receive from one of the 5 member universities of the IMIM consortium.
